Crafted with a Purpose

Brazilian Walnut is prized for its exceptional hardness, durability, and deep brown color accented by dramatic grain variation. The dense wood creates a substantial feel in the hand while showcasing striking natural character. Its bold appearance pairs beautifully with lighter rests for contrast or darker woods for a more unified presentation.

Each pair of chopsticks begins with a carefully chosen piece of hardwood, selected for its grain and character. Both sticks are crafted from the same piece, creating a naturally matched pair. From there, each blank is shaped by hand—planed and sanded to a fine taper, then refined into a subtle faceted form near the top before being smoothed into its final shape. The tips are rounded and finished entirely by hand, giving each pair a precise yet natural feel.

The finishing process is slow and deliberate. Multiple coats of tung oil are applied, with drying and sanding between each layer, followed by a final cure. The chopsticks are then polished with wax to achieve their smooth, refined finish. This allows the oil to penetrate and harden within the wood, enhancing durability while preserving the natural feel and grain.
